TPA is pleased to announce that Laura Kroeger has joined the Firm as an Associate in the TPA Federal Office in Washington, DC.
Laura brings valuable federal experience in legislative and intergovernmental affairs to TPA, having served in the Office of Warrior Care Policy in the Department of Defense, where she spent three years as a Legislative Analyst. In that role, she managed all legislative activity for WCP, including monitoring and reporting on legislation and other proposals to help wounded, ill, and injured service members transition back into service or into civilian life.
Prior to her work in the Department of Defense, Laura worked for Senator Dianne Feinstein on a variety of policy areas, including water, environment, agriculture, foreign affairs, defense, and health care.
Laura will expand the reach of TPA federal advocacy services and increase the visibility and influence of our clients in Washington, DC. She will be working closely with TPA Federal Director James Peterson.
Laura grew up in Sacramento and graduated from University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Film Studies. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, Henry. Outside of work, she is an avid film buff who enjoys volunteering with rescue dogs, training for triathlons, and traveling.
Welcome aboard Laura!
TPA congratulates the City of Laguna Beach (a TPA client) for being awarded a $500,000 grant from the California River Parkways Grant Program, administered by the California Natural Resources Agency, for the Dewitt Property Habitat Restoration Project.
The proceeds from this grant will help to restore the five-acres of riparian habitat known as the DeWitt parcel. The restoration project is a collaboration among the City of Laguna Beach, Laguna Canyon Foundation, and the Laguna Greenbelt, Inc. The funded project will complete three major renovations: First: the removal of invasive species from the Laguna Canyon Creek combined with planting of native species and trees; next: the addition of five interpretive signs that will educate the reader on the history of the Creek, its riparian habitat, and the impact humans have on the natural environment; and finally: the creation of a nature trail that connects the creek to a wildflower meadow, thus formalizing its connection to the trailhead access for the Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.
This latest achievement is another example of the efforts by the leadership of the City to protect vital natural resources and improve the quality of life for their residents. It’s also a reflection of the dedication and hard work by TPA Associate Gary Rogers and TPA Associate Eric O’Donnell to ensure a successful grant application.
Congratulations, Laguna Beach!
